DON’T LET FEAR LEAD YOU — TRUST GOD AND MOVE FORWARD 🛡️
“He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he delivers us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again.”
— 2 Corinthians 1:10 (ESV)
🙏 God Is With You — So Don’t Give In to Fear
Fear is real, but fear does not have to control your life.
There will be moments when circumstances look impossible, the future feels uncertain, and your mind begins asking:
“What if something goes wrong?”
“What if I fail?”
“What if I lose everything?”
“What if God doesn’t come through?”
But faith asks a different question:
“What if God is already working, even though I cannot see it?” 🙌
As followers of Jesus Christ, we are not called to live controlled by fear. We are called to walk by faith, trust God’s promises, and depend upon the power of the Holy Spirit.
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
— 2 Timothy 1:7 (ESV)
Fear says, “You are alone.”
Faith says, “God is with me.”
Fear says, “There is no way.”
Faith says, “God can make a way.”
Fear says, “What will happen tomorrow?”
Faith says, “My future is in God’s hands.”
🔥 GOD HAS BEEN FAITHFUL BEFORE — AND HE WILL BE FAITHFUL AGAIN
Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians that God delivered him from terrible danger—and that he continued to place his hope in God for the future.
This is a powerful principle for every believer:
Remember what God has already done.
Think about the times God made a way when you couldn’t see one.
Think about the prayers He answered.
Think about the doors He opened.
Think about the strength He gave you when you thought you couldn’t continue.
Your testimony of God’s faithfulness is a weapon against fear. 🛡️
When fear reminds you of your problems, remind fear of your God!
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
— Psalm 56:3 (ESV)
🌿 NOT EVERYTHING IS GOOD — BUT GOD CAN WORK THROUGH EVERYTHING
The Bible does not promise that everything that happens to us will be good.
There will be trials.
There will be disappointments.
There will be difficult seasons.
There will be battles.
But God’s promise is greater:
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
— Romans 8:28 (ESV)
Notice what Scripture says:
All things work together for good.
It doesn’t say all things are good.
A painful experience may not be good.
A difficult season may not be good.
A closed door may not feel good.
But God is powerful enough to take even difficult circumstances and use them for His purposes.
That means you don’t have to be terrified of tomorrow.
God is already there. 🙏
🕊️ FEAR REVEALS WHERE WE NEED TO TRUST GOD
Sometimes fear exposes an area of our life where we are struggling to trust God.
Ask yourself:
“What am I most afraid of losing?”
“What situation am I trying to control?”
“What am I worried God cannot handle?”
Fear can reveal where we are depending more on ourselves than on the Lord.
But God invites us to surrender those areas to Him.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6 (ESV)
✍️ Try This Today
Take a few minutes and make a list of your fears.
Write them down honestly.
Then, beside each fear, write:
“Lord, I surrender this to You.”
Begin praying specifically over each one.
Instead of repeatedly rehearsing the problem in your mind, start declaring God’s promises over your situation.
🔥 REPLACE FEAR WITH FAITH
You don’t overcome fear simply by telling yourself, “Don’t be afraid.”
You overcome fear by turning your attention toward God.
When anxiety rises:
🙏 Pray.
Talk honestly with God.
📖 Read Scripture.
Fill your mind with God’s truth.
🕊️ Depend on the Holy Spirit.
Ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen you and guide you.
🎶 Worship.
Praise God even before you see the answer.
💪 Take the next step of obedience.
Faith isn’t merely believing—it is trusting God enough to move forward.
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
— Romans 10:17 (ESV)
The more we fill our hearts with God’s Word, the more our faith grows.
👀 EXPECT GOD TO HELP YOU GROW IN TRUST
There is another important step:
Expect God to teach you how to trust Him.
Don’t simply pray, “Lord, take away my fear.”
Pray:
“Lord, teach me to trust You in this area.”
Then watch what He does.
Sometimes God changes the circumstances.
Sometimes He gives you wisdom.
Sometimes He opens a door.
Sometimes He closes a door to protect you.
And sometimes He doesn’t immediately change the situation—but He changes you in the middle of it.
He gives you strength.
He gives you peace.
He gives you courage.
He gives you grace to keep going.
“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.”
— Isaiah 26:3–4 (ESV)
🛡️ WHEN FEAR COMES, CHOOSE FAITH
You may not be able to control everything that happens around you.
But you can choose where you place your trust.
Fear is a voice—but it doesn’t have to be your master.
Faith is a choice to believe that God is greater than what you are facing.
So when fear comes knocking, don’t surrender.
Pray.
Stand on God’s Word.
Call upon the Holy Spirit.
Remember God’s faithfulness.
And keep moving forward.
🔥 **God was faithful yesterday.
God is faithful today.
God will be faithful tomorrow.**
Don’t give in to your fears. Give your fears to God. 🙏🕊️
💬 TALK IT OVER
Take some time to reflect and pray about these questions:
- What fears are you facing right now?
- What do those fears reveal about where you need to trust God more deeply?
- Why do you find it easier to trust God in some areas than others?
- When have you seen God come through for you when you thought He wouldn’t?
- What Scripture can you begin declaring over your fear today?
- What step of faith is God asking you to take?
🙏 A PRAYER FOR FAITH OVER FEAR
Heavenly Father,
I come before You in the name of Jesus. 🙏
Thank You because You are faithful, powerful, and trustworthy. You have brought me through difficult situations before, and I believe You will continue to lead me.
Lord, I surrender my fears to You. Every worry, every uncertainty, every situation I cannot control—I place it into Your hands.
Forgive me for the times I have allowed fear to become greater in my heart than my faith in You.
Holy Spirit, strengthen me. Fill me with courage, peace, wisdom, and faith. Help me to recognize when fear is speaking and give me the strength to respond with the truth of God’s Word.
Teach me to trust You when I cannot see the answer.
Teach me to worship You while I am waiting.
Teach me to believe You when circumstances look impossible.
And help me remember that You are working all things together according to Your purpose.
I choose faith over fear.
I choose trust over worry.
I choose obedience over hesitation.
I choose to believe that my God is greater than anything I may face.
